Suunto X9i, the world' s smallest outdoor wristop computer with GPS, is now compatible with several digital mapping services across the world. The upgraded Suunto X9i features a new USB charger and PC connector so outdoor enthusiasts can now charge their device through a PC. The new Suunto X9i will be available in two color choices: black and tan.

Utilizing digital mapping software, users are not only able to plan their routes on a digital map, but can also print their own customized maps and download routes from the software directly onto the Suunto X9i. In this way, route planning and waypoint programming is fast, accurate and simple.

When navigating on a pre-planned route, the Suunto X9i shows the direction and remaining distance to the next waypoint and calculates the estimated time of arrival. During activities, the Suunto X9i shows the current speed and distance traveled using GPS functions. The ' Find home' setting guides the way back to the start point or marked ' Home' position whilst the ' Track back' function guides the user back along any recorded route.

The Suunto X9i is the world' s smallest and lightest wrist-mounted GPS unit. In addition, it incorporates an altimeter, barometer, digital compass, thermometer, and an extensive memory, as well as the usual time/ stopwatch functions. Combining all of these functions into a sleek, sporty wristop computer not only enhances safety, but also adds a whole new dimension to the outdoor experience.

The Suunto X9i will be available in fall 2005.
